Grade 3s: all White |
Since Valentine's day falls on Saturday this year, we took the time to celebrate it a day earlier with the kids. I loved it! Every moment of it. It was really special to us all. The kids exchanged gifts, love cards, and hugs every where! :) I got a lot of love letters from my kids and a few gifts. A lot of hugs and kisses. But beside all of these wonderful things, I have to say a lot of things stood out for me as I took the time to read through all of those love letters; the time, the effort, the hearts and every word of appreciation poured into it moved my heart deeply. I know that to love someone is a choice and they chose to love me ( I don't take that lightly, all I can say is grace and I am deeply thankful for every little heart that sees me as someone special in their lives) I guess sometimes we don’t really know or understand how much someone truly loves and appreciates us until they say it. The greatest feeling in the world is knowing that the very people you love and deeply appreciate loves you too.And though I know and see their love every day, I guess it was just really amazing to have a day where by everyone could just focus on pouring their hearts out in words and actions. It leaves me speechless!
True love doesn't only come by on the 14th of February, but we all know that it's an every day choice that we need to make...choosing to love in truth every day and all year throughout. My brother use to say: if you only act according to your feelings, nothing right will come out of that, because so many times we don't feel like doing what is right.Love is a choice. It's a sacrifice. Is learning to die to self every day for the good of another. Love is the greatest gift from the Father to us...It's precious, is God Himself. The greatest inspiration is that God chose to love and we love, because He first loved us. God is Love.
Love is not really about the gifts and the chocolates, it's about learning to depend on God to help you love that same imperfect being even in times when you don't feel like it.
