The past few days has been really fun!
It has been really great just to have the whole team back together again and to hear everyone's holiday experiences and what they are trusting the Lord for in this year. It is truly a tremendous blessing to be apart of this team and I am really excited and looking forward to this year as we are about to take it one step at the time, praying and trusting the Lord to lead and guide us all the way. We focused more on cleaning and painting the classrooms last week. And now that that part is over and done with, it's time to get to the real business. Getting ready for the kids!

A new chapter of my life is about to begin within 3 days. Opening with kids, greetings, laughter, hugs, kisses, and very long stories about the Christmas holiday!
I am really excited and totally looking forward to seeing them all. I honestly can't wait to see their facial expression and reactions when they walk in to their new classrooms! Painted and brand new!

For the Love of Art! |
A lot of things are a bit different this year which is really exciting for me I have to say. Our previous grade 2s moved on, new kids, new levels and new challenges. For the first time I have a class of my own (which also means a lot of responsibilities of course) but I have children that I can officially call: " my own! my kids! my babies!" You can add anything adorable on to that.
:)
And I will be much more focus on teaching Arts this year, areas like visual arts, choreography, and drama which also leads me to consider taking up this same courses at the college of Arts here in Windhoek. The whole idea is to promote art in our school and basically to help the children express themselves in different ways of/through art. And to give them a chance to practice and put to work their God given gifts and talents. Because so many children often feel left out or they are not good at anything simply because they don't have the mega-minds of math or science mean while they got the mega-minds of arts and crafts. And what I really do pray and hope for is that they will recognize these gifts that God has placed in them and they will come to see the true value in them in order to embrace and truly appreciate the unique gift that God has given to each an everyone of us. For them to know and understand that God gives us abilities and they are very important and I believe that God wants us to use whatever He has given us for His praise and glory.
Someone once said to me: " Live every moment, laugh every day and love beyond measure."
I have carried these words and practiced them ever since. And today I guess i will add to that and say: Learn to freely practice, love, and flourish in very gifts and abilities that God has given you. Let all be done and be used for the glory of God. He deserves our very best.
