All it took was a tie...

This smile made my day
This is Donovan. One of our grade 6 students. Though he can be a bit difficult some times he's such a sweet heart. I mean what can I say? we all can be difficult some times. Donovan has an outstanding servant-hood heart that I really love and every bone in his body always wants to help out with something. And when I say help; I mean gladly, cheerful, and always willing to serve without the need for praise or accolades. So, today he came to me during my P.E class with the grade 7s. He walked in with a lose tie in one of his hands, a tie that he had just bought from the Jambo sale we had today at school during break time. He kindly asked for my help. Help with one  thing he really wanted to do, but just couldn't get right. To knit his tie.
It has been a long time since I knit a tie, so I told him that I will try my best.
Like a first grader, he stood still with a bright smile on his face, waiting patiently as I knit his tie around his neck. Then we got it right. Finished. I stepped back, took one good look at him and then I exclaimed:
"WOW! Donovan you look super handsome!"
And there it was the BEST and BRIGHTEST smile I have ever seen on his face! He's face light up!
It nearly moved me to tears. I couldn't believe it; all it took was a tie and words of affirmation to get him smiling this big. It was amazing. I loved his reaction even more as he saw the picture I took of him. So happy and confident. He surely looked good.
I realized that some times is the little things that we take for granted that could mean so much and be a blessing to someone's soul. It didn't take much of my time and effort; but it meant so much to him. His thankful radiant smile has been and still is the one thing that made my day.
Thank you Lord for Donovan.

Love Cards from the Gr 3s.

When work gets hard and I feel like totally going coo-coos, God always steps in at the right time by using my babies; with words of comfort, love cards, and  refreshing hugs. Nothing beats a stressful hour than this. Knowing that when I am busy with He's work, He is busy in their little hearts in order to show me love and appreciation through them. It makes every hard work and effort totally worth it. Because when you feel loved and appreciated, you are always willing to go an extra mile than expected from you. Every work became enjoyable and fruitful.
My love letters from the grade 3s. Though they have moved on they still remember and love me. Made me burst in to tears of joy. I deeply love them so much, and I thank God for each one of them. I love my life with them.

The Love Feast!

The CHS team gathered at the YWAM base early this evening to celebrate each other and the beginning of a great year. We held a Love Feast with the Canadian team who kindly and humbly set up dining tables for us and served us all throughout the evening. ( Canadians are the BEST!! I Love! LOVE! Canadians!) It was beautiful and marvelous, every bit of it!
:)
The Love Feast was all about; really just taking the time to thank each other for the amazing hard work and effort everyone puts in everyday to make the whole body/ team function in the best way, by having the same mind and purpose towards each other, the school and the children. We really had an amazing time of worship. Fellowship and shallow-ship!
It’s really a blessing to be part of this team filled with the most amazing, loving, encouraging, and coolest people ever!
God is so GOOD!
