Happy Twinzie Day!!

It is so funny when you have people constantly coming to you and wanting to know what it is like to be a twin. We both get asked this question a lot. Honestly it is a difficult question to answer, because neither of us have really known what it is like to not be a twin.So we don't always have the best answer, it is pretty much like being asked what it is like to breathe and you kind of go like...wow! I have never actually thought of that!
First of all we are fraternal twins (in this case male and female) and yes we are really close. So far many people's first impression of us is either that we are dating or married. And once they find out that we are twins...first impression is normally SHOCKED!...and once they come out of that they start asking questions based on twin myths which sometimes leaves me wondering whether I am really a twin or not.
We are twins and that is true but we don't share illnesses or physical sensations in any way. In fact I have been really sick for the passed two days flu, headache and high fever while he (my twin brother) has been having the best health days of his life!
We don't think alike and I don't think people mix us up. We don't finish each other's sentences though we do sometimes experience our share of twin quirks. We have our own individuality and just simply being fraternal twins makes each one of us unique and special in his or her own way. Being a twin is a bond in itself. Being a twin is a blessing, it is like being born just with the kind of best friend you need by your side and as a friend once said..."until marriage do you part."
I know that it has only been two decades and a few more years but I am still amazed at how long and faithful God has carried us. It kind of felt like New Year's morning when I opened my eyes this day and I was filled with that special feeling of simply being aware of how long I have been alive/on earth. It is a gift from God. It is a gift of His Amazing Love and Grace to us. He has been really Good, therefore I will count my years and seasons of blessings because I know that I am going to miss this one day. I am going to wish these days hadn't gone by so fast for surely these are the Good days even though more is yet to come.( God willing)

We all need a bit of encouragement

I am sharing this quote by Amy Carmichael, one of my spiritual heroes because it encouraged me this morning.

“Nothing will matter to me again except the things that are eternal.”
 Amy Carmichael

Honestly that is a hard creed to live by but with God’s help He is able to change our hearts and align it with eternal priorities. Some times all He ask of us is to simply be faithful with whatever He has entrusted to us. Our daily bread. Whether it may be studies, family, job...it should all be done with the aim of changing this world for the glory of God. Temporal pursuit causes us to waste our lives on things that are meaningless in light of eternity.  But we are not called to do this in our own strength, because it is impossible. The power to fulfill all that God has called us to is found in Christ Jesus our King, the Father, who is the source of all things.

Moral Values.

We live in a world obsessed with personal value. What people do depends on their personal values, but since everyone's values are different, there seems to be no standard by which we must all live.
Homes and communities continues to fail every day the more we deny our need for God and to live right. They crumble the moment we think we can set our own rules for our lives and we will fail in developing respectful, obedient and responsible citizens. For this week's chapel, we had Jerald come in and share more on this subject. The importance of moral value and character based on 1 Corinthians 13 and Mathew 7:12.
The beauty of Christianity is the fact that it goes beyond all other religions in that it is more than just a system of do’s and don’ts; it is a relationship with the living God through His Son, Jesus Christ. A Christian’s set of moral values go beyond society’s mores and selfish instincts.  Every act of obedience is based on love and a desire to please God. Whether we believe it or not moral values, directly or indirectly, affect everything we do in life. We divided the students in to 8 groups and each group had to come up with different moral values that they were taught at home and school and how they live that out practically in every area of their lives.

New Life In Christ.

It's an unending celebration when new life begins.
Some times is hard to explain in words the joy of seeing the ones you love coming to Christ. The joy of new life, a new heart and the amazing work of God. Grace. God's grace towards fallen man that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. It is hard to comprehend but I am truly thankful. His kindness is demonstrated in such a deep away that it leaves no room for anyone to boast!
Today we witnessed the death and burial of Christ's disciples by baptism and as they rose to new lives with him. They expressed their profession of faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. And gave a true picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. By God's grace four of my students got baptized today which was and still is a joy beyond joy! It is a blessing to witness God's amazing work in the lives of new believers. He has everything to do with it and even though He chooses to work through us the ultimate Glory rightfully belongs to God alone and it will not be shared with anyone. So let us give Him the Glory not me or anyone else. Indeed we serve a Mighty and Living God who hears our every cry and answers prayers! Some times it may feel like He's silent or he's taking "forever" but as surely as the LORD Almighty lives, whom we serve, He's at work busy removing the hearts of stone and replacing them with new hearts and new spirits. We were witnesses of this today.

Isaiah 45:21-22
"... And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me.Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other."
